THE FABULOUS FINE ART 4EVER SHOWCASE OF: AKUA N. KARIAMU

Akua N. Kariamu is a writer, visual artist, and music educator born and raised in New York and has been residing in Seattle for 10 years. Her family's Southern and in Guyanese roots make up a diversity of perspectives which she espouses as an artist and musician. Akua was a music consultant and instructor of violin for the Ladsonian Foundation. She has also guest taught for the Noel Pointer School of Music in Brooklyn. since relocating to Seattle she has taught for Langston Hughes Summer Performing Arts Institute, artis in Motion, and the Associated Recreation a Council division if Seattle Parks and a Recreation. She is a Pratt Fine Arts Poncho  Pathways Artist Fellow, and a teaching artist for Reel Grills. She currently runs her company Spirit Dance Coaching for Introverts and the Literary Violinist Studio. Her free time is spent planting food and creating music with her husband.

1. Who are you?

My name is Shurvon "shaynlicia" Haynes, Fine Arts Visionary journalist for Fine Arts By Shurvon and The Live ArtiFacts/ Fabulous Fine Arts 4EVER websites.

2. What is your specific fine arts practice?

I'm a Fine Arts Visionary, visual artists of original collage paintings, custom jewelry designer, write poetry and articles about Fine Arts.

3. When did you decide to be an visual artists and fine arts journalist?

I knew at a very young age that I would be a visual artists while I was in grade school making class art projects. It wasn't until 2004, when I started painting and writing more consistently.

4. Why is Fine Art important?

Because it is a form of visual expression for people to receive healing, understanding and appreciation for the creative gifts we all have.

5. What is your five-year visual arts plan?

To be a successful visual artists entrepreneur, expand my fine arts exhibition territory by developing a diverse portfolio of original fine art paintings in galleries and museums.

The Art of Fashion Designer Series

Fine Arts by Shurvon presents a preview image of the 1st painting from the brand new 'Art of Fashion' Designer Series for 2016.

There will only be three original collage paintings for this series, each painting will be of a lady and her gentleman wearing the fabulous fashion designer clothing styles that were popular:

1. "Before"- the 1600's. "heART of Mind"

2. "After"- 1970. "Black Love is Beautiful"

3. "Now"- in this year of 2016. "Love is NEW!"

Fine Arts by Shurvon was created by "ME" visual artists, Shurvon Haynes, the Fine Arts Visionary of many creative projects that includes: collage paintings, creative writing, fashionable jewelry designs and blogging about the importance of fine arts education on my social media www.creatingfinearts.blogspot.com and www.liveartifacts.blogspot.com websites.

The details of my journey into the 'Wonderful World of Fine Arts, From Color crayons to Gesso Canvas' will be written in my first book, until then I will be making some original art made with paint, color pencils, markers and crayons on paper for the new 'Fabulous Fine Arts Forever Series'

My creative Fine Arts journey officially started in the year 2008, after reading two books, 'Art for Social Change,' written by my former college professor Beverly Naidus and another written by one of my favorite writers of all time, bell hooks, titled 'Art on My Mind.' Their writings about the importance of creative fine arts really helped me to define the style of artwork that I wanted to make, something that is, personal, historical, educational, authentic, original and sometimes "political, religious, emotional and fashionable" = "ALL THE THINGS I LIKE!"

My heART's Designer'- 2015, this series was supposed to be 25 individual watercolor paintings on paper of the 25 reasons i love art, but...I only made three pictures before I decided to make just one surrealist drawing on a large piece of canvas fabric, for more information about this original artwork read my previous blog post.

The Art of Fashion Design - 2016, this series will include three large canvas paintings of men and women wearing the fashion design clothing styles worn since human creation, after the African Diaspora until now in the year of 2016. It will also include small drawings on paper of the fashion styles worn in each decade since the 1800's that will be compiled into a limited edition fashion magazine. The first  original collage paintings for this series will be featured at the African-American Art Festival Sundiata this summer in Seattle, WA. http://www.festivalsundiata.org

My other creative art series is the Designer Art Signature Series, individual art images made on a 12 x 12 paper, canvas or wood board of whatever I decide to paint on any given day. Please note the paintings made for this year only will be on 8 x 10 canvas boards. The Armor of God (Ephesians 6: 10 - 18)
