Journey into the New Year!!!

The Back2Black Designer Arts Signature series of 2017 will be different from what I had previously planned in my previous post about this annual art project.

It was not my creative intention to reveal or complete this entire annual series at the end of the year, I understand now that it was very necessary. 2017 has been a very challenging and interesting year with so many changes and new developments worldwide.

Although I believe it is important for people to become more globally connected, the actual process of understanding diversity,  racial differences and personal growth is a lifelong journey.

The Back2BLACK series was originally intended to just be about the beautiful aesthetic of the color black, with twelve different original all solid black paintings of whatever I chose to make.

However, it was becoming obvious that this series would be more about the historical, intellectual, spiritual and value of Black People from the African Diaspora. It is important that our legacy, contributions and presence in the world be recognized, acknowledged and appreciated.

We were not created to be slaves, robot-zombies and punching bags for other races to misuse and abuse just because we have black skin.

God made our skin to be dark, we are His Human Creation. We are a Beautiful Black People...Always and Forever!!! That is what the new and improved Back2BLACK Designer Art Signature Series will represent on December 26, 2017 for the first day of Kwanzaa.
